Sail our four platinum boats, two Cal 39s in Boston and two Pearson 36s one in Boston, one in Westport. These 4 boats are the queens of our fleet, fast, powerful boats that offer a workable blend of big boat ocean sailing capability with an ample domestic environment below for comfortable extended cruises. They feature private staterooms fore and aft, two single berths in the main salon, a stand-alone chart table and a spacious, enclosed head and shower that rivals the size of a home bath. Both boats have wheel steering, 135% furling genoa, mainsails with two reefs and reliable Yanmar diesels. Other cruising amenities are electric refrigeration, hot and cold pressure water, 3 burner propane stoves with oven, microwave, dodger and cushions.
OTHER EQUIPMENT: Platinum boats have the high-end Raymarine 80 navigation system color displays for GPS chartplotter, digital depth, color fish finder and radar. There is a VHF, stereo with interior and cockpit speakers, shore power for household current to shipboard outlets and battery and cell phone charging. The galley is outfitted for cooking and dining aboard and complemented by a rail-mount propane barbecue. Dinghy, outboard, tool kit with engine spares, fasteners and fuses, flashlight and spare batteries are standard, Cals have as are manual and electric bilge pumps.
SAFETY EQUIPMENT: Safety equipment exceeds federal requirements. All PFDs are type 1 offshore-rated, 25lb extinguishers have metal, not plastic, valves for durability, double the federal requirement. There are working and storm anchors, ample docklines/fenders and an emergency tiller.
SAILING LIMITS: Platinum boats may be sailed anywhere in New England. Minimum crew is 2.
MEMBER QUALIFICATIONS: Platinum membership requires bareboat or equivalent certification or acceptable experience plus credible chart reading experience needed to navigate safely in Boston harbor and distant waters. Recommended preparation is the Master 40 or Masters 40 Ocean Passage course.
OPTIONAL DAMAGE WAIVER: Holds you harmless for damage caused by collision with other boats or running aground.
BENEFITS: Platinum members enjoy unlimited weekday and weekend use, a week vacation (additional days $80), plus 2 advanced weekend reservations, plus unlimited use of the Bronze and daysailing fleets and limited (day ahead reservations) of the Pearson 36, Cal 33, Pearson 31, J29 and Albin 28 fleets. Pay $300 to participate in the Club's Wednesday evening racing program.
